At their reunion after 50 years, which happens to be the 200th anniversary of Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol's birth, the creative passions always firing in these artists are let out: they want to finish the uncompleted work they tried 50 years ago and present The Inspector General on stage.

Jiao Huang, the "emperor of drama" is going to be the lead actor and play the role of Khlestakov; Prof. Chen Mingzheng, who was the teaching assistant of the 59th students of the Performance Department of Shanghai Theatre Academy, is the director of the play. Lead Cast: Shi Hongmei

As a legendary summit in Ming and Qing Dynasties, The Palace of Eternity promoted China's classical drama to a new level with its delicate and beautiful lyric, comely and resonant singing and sweet music.

The opera sets the love story between Li Longji and his imperial concubine Yang Yuhuan in the background of "An Shi Rebellion" which marks the Tang Dynasty from being grand to gloomy. It initiates a magnificent Kunqu Opera with historical events, love of life and death, people's condition and livelihood intertwining with each other. It expresses the feeling of nation's rise and fall by romance between men and women.

Synopsis In the year 10 of Tianbao, at Qi Xi Festival (Chinese Valentine's Day) on July 7th on lunar calender, Li Longji (Emperor Tang Ming) and his imperial concubine Yang Yuhuan pledged to the Heaven in Palace of Eternity that they were willing to be couples forever. Li played with Yang all day long ignoring political affairs, which led An Lushan's rebellion. On the way to the middle of Shu (now in Sichuan province) when Li took Yang for refuge, the officers and soldiers shouted loudly that "if not kill concubine, we refuse to protect the emperor''. In desperation, Li granted his concubine to hang herself on the pear tree. After the rebellion calmed down, it was another year's Qiqiao Festival. Li Longji met Concubine Yang in his dream. But they were departed by life and death, so he missed his lover more and more.

Act I Odd and pathetic are the inhabitants of an insane asylum. Among the inmates is a deluded lunatic, who imagines himself to be a dazzling knight, Don Quixote. Soon, his dreams about the magnificent Spain become contagious and consume the rest of the asylum. The merciless whistle of the Doctor shatters their colorful dream world. The bitter reality shrinks to the size of a hula hoop. But imagination is unstoppable. One step? and the inmates are in the sunny Barcelona. Here, the embodiment of the madman's dream is the charming Kittri, who is forced by her father, Lorenzo, to marry the rich nobleman, Gamache. The madman wants to stop the avaricious tavern keeper's plans. His fantasies have no limits, and so he becomes the handsome Basil - the contender to the hand of Kittri and the competitor of the rich bridegroom. The Doctor's loathsome whistle brings the lunatic back into the dark walls of the asylum. Obeying the Doctor's order, the inmates begin a game with a ball, which consumes the dreamer. The ball steals the fantasies and turns into an ominous vision. It is possible to escape the ball's oppression, but only for a moment - the whistle sounds again; the Doctor is always near.

Act II Nights are strange in the insane asylum. On one of them, when the thirst for freedom is especially strong, two lunatics escape. The reality of a modern city is violent and crude. The naove fantasist breaks into a street brawl and tries to stop the rape. His attempt elicits laughter; the mob mocks the madman. But to him, the saved girl is a vision of the beautiful Dulcinea - Kittri - and he leads her into the world of his fantasies, where the most audacious of dreams come true. Barcelona; enter Lorenzo and Gamache. The father insists: Kittri must marry the rich nobleman. Basil feigns a suicide. ice Ravel's (1875 -- 1937)compositions for solo piano are not extensive, but almost all his works have become part of the standard repertoire. Ravel's piano music is often compared to that of Debussy, but it has its owncharacter. Ravel's piano works are almost always descriptive and programmatic. It has an elegance and a distinct rigor. Ravel drew inspiration from many composers, including his French predecessors Faure and Chabrier and the French baroque clavecinists. Much of his music is notoriously difficult to play. Ravel's harmonies are distinctive and the music often shimmers.

Johann Sebastian Bach (often referred to simply as Bach) was a German composer, organist, violist, and violinist whose ecclesiastical and secular works for choir, orchestra, and solo instruments drew together the strands of the Baroque period and brought it to its ultimate maturity. Although he did not introduce new forms, he enriched the prevailing German style with a robust contrapuntal technique, an unrivalled control of harmonic and motivic organisation, and the adaptation of rhythms, forms and textures from abroad, particularly from Italy and France.

Bach's abilities as an organist were highly respected throughout Europe during his lifetime, although he was not widely recognised as a great composer until a revival of interest and performances of his music in the first half of the 19th century. He is now regarded as the supreme composer of the Baroque, and as one of the greatest of all time.

The Concerto for 2 Violins, Strings and Continuo in D Minor, BWV 1043, also known as the Double Violin Concerto, is perhaps one of the most famous works by J. S. Bach and considered among the best examples of the work of the late Baroque period. Bach wrote it between 1717 and 1723 while he was the Kapellmeister at Anhalt-Kothen. Later in 1739, in Leipzig, he created an arrangement for two harpsichords, transposed into C minor, BWV 1062. In addition to the two soloists, the concerto is scored for strings and basso continuo.

Tchaikovsky's Serenade for Strings in C major, Op. 48, premiered in 1880. It remains one of the late Romantic era's most definitive compositions. In his score, Tchaikovsky supposedly wrote, "The larger the string orchestra, the better will the composer's desires be fulfilled." Tchaikovsky intended the first movement to be an imitation of Mozart's style, and it was based on the form of the classical sonatina, with a slow introduction. The stirring 36-bar Andante introduction is ......

words by Choreographer Angelin Preljocaj

Why I chose "White Snow Princess"

All along, I'm dreaming about telling stories(through danceing). "Empty moves" and ?Eldorado", these two dances are very abstract works I created before.According to my old habits, I would like to try the opposite type: a very specific creative works,Show a fairyland charming scene. Maybe just want to change myself. Another reason is well-known: I love fairy tales.

A narrative ballet

This is not " Myth of White Snow Princess" or "Legend of White Snow Princess", it's exactly telling about the White Snow Princess, her story......

Tell stories by dance

In ?White Snow Princess?, I would like to express it using a type that everyone can understand. So that I can put my all attention to the performance of the body, energy and spaces, and also the feelings and apperceive of people. To show the audience the power of the physique. In addition, there are a large number of amazing things that hit Choreographer?s imagination in ?White Snow Princess?

Amazing symbols of the story

Based on the version of the Brothers Grimm, I made some changes to the story according to my own symbolic analysis. Psychology Masters Bettelheim looked Snow White as the female version of Oedipus. The stepmother is undoubtedly the central figure person that throughout the story. I think it is precisely because of her narcissism, unwilling to give up her status and charm as a woman, she chose to sacrificeher own stepdaughter. The understanding of the symbols is not limited to adults, children can also figure it out. And exactly just for this reason, I found myself like fairy-tales very much.

A romantic modern ballet

For me, this ballet is significant because it focus 26 company's dancers. They will dancing ......
