Tasty Taste

Category: Dining > Cafes
Where:
Contact:

City Weekend says:

Tasty Taste's Gongti location has closed, but they will be reopening in June 2008 in Wudaokou. Address forthcoming

This easy-to-overlook café lives up to its name with a divine range of tempting cheese cakes. Favorites include blueberry and coffee, but the great range of flavors calls for a sampling of all. But if you ask us, the ice cream and the Illy coffee are overpriced. A minimalist patio and great location bordering Worker's Stadium make Tasty Taste a great impromptu summertime patio haunt. Perfect for a late night dessert fix.

At this classy Spanish restaurant, Chef Jordi Valles Claverol tickles your taste buds with a sexy menu of classic tapas and masterpieces that require slow cooking. Don't miss the crispy skin suckling pig and torrijas dessert. Whether you choose to dine indoors or al fresco, both settings exude an air of romance as you dine by candlelight.

Contributor Description:

A hidden gem, this small restaurant cafe is on the second floor of Wudaokou's HuaQingJiaYuan (????). Proud of its commitment to no MSG, no artificial coloring, and no frozen beef, this "Gourmet American" restaurant really pulls through on value. Their burger is not only good, it's huge (hamburger 25kuai). The bread is somewhat sweet, but if you get the cheeseburger, the cheese more than makes up for it. I would also recommend the Cajun Chicken Breasts with salad and the Grilled 5 flavors Sausage and French Fries (this one takes a bit of time though). They have real ketchup and real mayo (big plus!). Their Colombia coffee (though not the best coffee) comes with 2 refills. The place is also great for studying as they have wireless and a lot of periodicals (actually, I've been reluctant to recommend it lest it gets too crowded). On a side note, I believe the place is run by a Korean as there are some Korean items on the menu.
